Changi, Singapore - As part of the world's largest wastewater program — the Ministry of the Environment's Deep Tunnel Sewerage System Project (DTSS) — CH2M HILL is providing program management, engineering design/investigations, feasibility studies of reclaimed water as raw water for eventual potable use and construction management for the Changi Water Reclamation Plant. The US$2 billion, 10-year project is part of the first phase of the US$7 billion DTSS program, which will help the Republic of Singapore meet its water infrastructure needs for the next 40 years and boost economic development, while helping to ensure higher quality-of-life standards for future generations. The capacity for the first phase of this facility will exceed 794 million liters per day and subsequent phases will make the ultimate capacity 2.4 billion liters per day.
Ruskin’s part of this massive project is to provide control dampers and backdraft dampers, the Swartwout 904 and 702 models, built exclusively of 316 stainless steel and our Swartwout 914 FRP control dampers. All 316 dampers are built and tested at Ruskin’s Thailand manufacturing plant and will provide precise control of the air handling systems in the various structures. Designed for high pressure systems (7kPa) and operation in environments where trace amounts of volatile chemicals permeate the air, the use of 316 stainless steel construction and special epoxy-coated actuators insure years of trouble-free operation and excellent duty life.
Fabrication for the C3C project began in 2004 and the final shipment for this phase was completed in 2005. Currently, the C3D and C4B project dampers are under construction, to be delivered by mid-2006.
