Strong Engineering Specification Leads to SaleThe MEP and Fire Protection Engineer on the project was Henderson Engineering of Lenexa, KS. According to Eric Taylor of HEI, the Ruskin airflow measuring dampers played a key role in the design of the indoor comfort systems. “The Ruskin IAQ50X and CDRAMS dampers are both used in the Arena bowl distribution ductwork,” stated Eric. “IAQ50X dampers are used in branch ductwork serving different zones within the bowl including the upper and middle sections of the bowl. The CDRAMS dampers are used on individual diffuser’s branch ductwork for control of airflow to each device. These dampers are controlled by the building automation system based on space temperature demands similar to a VAV box without reheat.”
Commenting on the purpose of utilizing Ruskin’s low leak control dampers with integral airflow measuring stations, Eric confirmed, “These products were used for three reasons.
