Test and balance is a critical part of every LEED project. The addition of the true-round VFBD25 balancing damper will significantly reduce the amount of time needed to set the required airflow through each branch of the air distribution system. The VFBD25 is a low noise solution, eliminates the need for hoods and is ideal for those hard-to-reach outlets.

Using Ruskin CD50 dampers in your LEED projects will help identify energy savings in the building envelope and throughout the ductwork. Airfoil blades reduce pressure drop and noise and the CD50 in Class 1 leakage rated that meets requirements of IECC and ASHRAE 90.1 by leaking less than 3 cfm/sq. ft. at 1" static pressure.

Ruskin's low leak CD50L damper when combined with the appropriate 24v linear actuator produces a damper/actuator assembly that provides linear airflow through damper with respect to the signal it receives. This will allow for easier test and balance as well as save energy for LEED EAc1 on the building envelope.

The use of external shading devices are a natural choice for Green Buildings. Ruskin Sunshades are available with a variety of blade and outrigger configurations and virtually any color. By reducing glare, the LEED designer can incorporate more glazing to increase natural lightings and views. In addition to IEQc8.1 for daylighting, other applicable LEED credits in play include EAc1, MRc4 and IEQc7.1.
